The Youth Cast and Adult Cast
The Adult Cast is aged 12 or over. This cast was formally auditioned on the 3rd and 6th September at Crowborough Community Centre (see www.thecrowplayers for more information).
The Youth Cast is aged from school age to 18. There are no formal auditions and anyone who wants to be involved in the Youth Cast can be. Everyone is very welcome to take part and there are speaking parts for all who want them.
What’s the Youth Cast About? Why is it different to the Adult Cast?

What’s the Youth Cast About? Why is it different to the Adult Cast?
- The Youth Cast will be trained and be rehearsed by WyW Theatre.
- There will be no evening rehearsals for the Youth Cast (o12 Youth Cast members may elect to join evening rehearsals).
- There are no formal auditions for the Youth Cast.
- Everyone who joins the Youth Cast is guaranteed a part (speaking if they wish) in the panto.
- The Youth Cast will have a short Tech Rehearsal (and not have to stay for the full 4, 5 or 6 hours).
- The Youth Cast is run as a drama school or club, with sessions every Sunday afternoons from 13th September to the 15th November (exlc 25th Oct), officially joining the Adult Panto Cast for the final rehearsals from 22nd November onwards (please see Rehearsal and Production Summary).
- The Youth Cast has flexibility in commitment (please see FAQs).
- The Youth Cast are all under 18.
- The Adult Cast may not be called every Sunday and may be called at different times on Sunday - it will be a traditional rehearsal schedule, rather than a drama club.
- There is often waiting during Adult Cast rehearsals where cast members must remain silent - this is unlikely to happen during Youth Cast rehearsals apart from in the later stages of rehearsals.
- The Adult Cast does not receive theatre training.
